On November 17, 2010 Portland Community College held it's first GIS Day celebration.  Held in the upper mall of the College Center, the event included:

- Map slide show: with maps from City of Portland, City of Gresham, students projects, the Bizarre Map Challenge, and more
- GIS Professionals were here to talk to students about GIS and what it means to be a professional in the field
- Geo-Adventure - despite the torrential downpour on the day, students took GPS units out into the elements to hunt down three landmarks on Sylvania  campus
- Raffle with prizes provided by ESRI as well as the Geography department
