Position:              GIS Analyst
Location:              Boise, IDSeeking a qualified GIS Analyst with strong cartographic, data management and analytical skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing GIS technical support and GIS task management for a wide range of projects within our water rights marketing and economic consulting services business lines. Primary duties include GIS project management, creating cartographic products for display and reports, interpreting and mapping historic land descriptions for water rights, and collecting, analyzing, and mapping geospatial data for water resource, socio-economic metrics, and land use.  Secondary duties include, IT/IS support liaison, and database, procedural, and application development. Applicants must have good communications skills, demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and perform work on time and within budget resources. Job breakdown is approximately 50% GIS Cartography, 40% Spatial Data Research, Acquisition, and Management, 5% IT/IS support, and 5% GIS Project, Process, and Application Development.

Salary Range:               $42,000 to $50,000 DOE Plus

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree from a US accredited College or University in Geography, Planning, Natural Resources, or related field (required).
  • 2 years work experience in the consulting or related field.
  • Experience with ESRI software, specifically the ArcGIS suite (ArcCatalog, ArcMap, ArcToolbox). Ability to perform GIS data conversion/editing, GIS map production, spatial database management, spatial analysis/reporting tasks.
  • Professional technical experience with designing, creating, editing and maintaining geodatabases and metadata for numerous projects.
  • Experience in the creation and maintenance of GIS data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access and Excel and the ability to integrate them with ESRI products.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Design suite of products and the ability to integrate them with ESRI.
  • Ability to work with and communicate effectively with remote offices, colleagues, vendors, and clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MS or higher degree from a US accredited College or University in Geography, Planning, Natural Resources, or related field with an emphasis in GIS related analysis
  • 4 years work experience in the consulting or related field.
  • GISP Certification.
  • Experience and knowledge in water rights, and water resource management, as well as experience with GIS applications in these areas.
  • Good presentation and speaking skills with demonstrated experience
  • Ability to network within the office and professional colleagues to educate co-workers about capabilities and applications of GIS.
  • Strong understanding of GIS concepts and spatial data.
  • Attention to detail ability to identify new GIS project opportunities inside and outside the firm.
  • Strong networking ability, organizational skills, communication and writing skills, positive/excited attitude.
  • Strong vision for future GIS expansion, projects, and possibilities.
