Position Description:
The GIS Intern would be responsible for managing data, developing maps and graphics, performing spatial analysis, and communicating complex concepts through graphic communication. The position involves creative thinking and problem solving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Requirements:
-A Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Planning, or Information Systems is preferred but having at least one year or more of professional experience digitizing, programming and producing complex maps can substitute for some higher education
-Proficiency in ArcGIS
-Ability to perform complex spatial analysis with a variety of GIS data formats
-Knowledge of data compression techniques, resolutions, and sizes to ensure that images can be delivered at optimal speeds to various audiences
-Ability to produce attractive and informative graphics on deadline
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
-Experience with Network, Spatial and 3D Analyst
-Experience working with CAD data formats
-Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator, Acrobat and Photoshop
-The ability to troubleshoot GIS workstation problems that may require creative solutions.
Hours and compensation:
- Pay depends on qualifications and experience
