            General Position Summary:
            A Level 1 Temporary Full-Time GIS Specialist provides a full range of GIS services and provides GIS support to the forestry and environmental services groups at MB&G. 

            Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities: 
            Responsible for client satisfaction and delivery of high quality GIS products.  


            Duties include: 
            -Construction, maintainence and visualisation of GIS databases. 
            -Performs simple analysis and modeling tasks.
            -Edits and prepares presentations, maps and graphic products.
            -Provides technical support to projects managed by others.
            -Contributes to technical reports as required, e.g., technical approach, methods, data analysis
            -Responsible for accurate and timely deliverables and documentation for all projects. 
            -Complete work in reasonable amount of time and remain within budget.
            -Actively promotes MB&G as a premier provider of natural resource consulting services.


            Secondary Functions: 
             
            -Performs administrative tasks as needed and attendance at company/group meetings.
            -Performs other duties as necessary. 

            Job Skills: 
            -Basic to intermediate knowledge of GIS concepts and principles. 
            -Basic to intermediate GIS analysis modeling and database skills. 
            -Basic to intermediate knowledge of GIS data formats and conversions. 
            -Basic to intermediate knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, Java, or Visual Basic) 
            -Basic to intermediate knowledge of MS Access databases. 
            -Basic to intermediate knowledge of GPS data collections and post-processing. 
            -Understanding and practice of spatial concepts and mapping techniques. 
            -Understanding and practice of good spatial data management. 
            -Understanding of computer networks and good file management practices. 
            -Ability to adapt to frequent changes/interruptions. 
            -Strong written and oral communication. 
            -Enthusiastic and team-oriented individual. 
            -Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills. 
            -Operates independently under minimal supervision. 
            -Responsive and client service oriented. 


            Education and/or Experience 
            -BS or BA in Forestry, Geography or natural resource related field required 
            -1 to 2 years experience required. Experience as a consultant in a GIS, forestry or environmental consulting firm preferred. 


            Combination of education and experience will be considered. 

            Experience with ESRI GIS software preferred. 

            Additional preference maybe given to candidates experience with CADD software and products
