The AAG has received funding from the National Science Foundation to defray the expenses of participation by U.S. scientists in the International Geographical Union Regional Conference in Santiago, Chile to be held from November 14-18, 2011. The program will provide approximately twenty-five travel grants for this meeting: thirteen grants of $1,500 each junior scholars, including graduate students, and twelve awards of $1,000 each to senior scholars. Applicants should note that the deadline for submitting abstracts for papers and posters for IGU is March 10, 2011.
Applications for IGU Travel Grants are due by June 1, 2011. Submissions received after that date may be accepted as alternates. Notifications will be made within approximately 2 to 3 weeks after the deadline.
