DEADLINE EXTENDED TO February 1, 2013 http://www.aag.org/grants/college_travel Support from this grant program is awarded to outstanding students from community colleges, junior colleges, city colleges, or similar two-year educational institutions to attend the next AAG Annual Meeting. These travel funds are generously provided by Darrel Hess and Robert and Bobbé Christopherson. The award consists of meeting registration, one year membership in the AAG, and a travel expense subsidy of $500 to be used to defray the costs of attending the AAG Annual Meeting. Job Openings

Specialist II/III, GIS The successful candidate will apply proficient knowledge of GIS software and hardware to analyze, design, develop, test, document, implement, train, administer and maintain spatial maps, products and business processes. Lead special initiatives/projects and tasks as assigned, prepare and deliver presentations, writing papers/process documentation, teach desktop GIS software skills to users, provide support for GIS application related questions and problems. Typically a degree in geography or one of the fields related to GIS applications plus up to one to two years of experience. Applicants should have proficient knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS Desktop 10.1, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Server for SharePoint, Microsoft SharePoint principles and techniques. Also, proficient knowledge of MS Access, SQL, Python, scripting and database design. Able to lift 50 lbs. Some work may require travel and working in other areas of the company. Must have a valid driver’s license in good standing. The position is described at the Specialist II / III level, but the position will be filled at the level commensurate with the experience of the selected candidate.
