Description
Are you skilled in the area of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and have a passion for public service? The Lane County Technology Services and Public Works departments are looking for a Senior GIS Engineering Analyst to support the mission and goals of the County.

This position provides critical services around mapping, spatial data management, and GIS solution development and support. Typical job duties include:

  1. Manage GIS data in ArcGIS File and SDE Geodatabases (SQL Server)
  2. Create and manage GIS applications on ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise and in HTML5 web apps
  3. Create mobile GIS tools to collect and validate field data including Collector, Survey123 and ArcGIS Field Maps
  4. Manage ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise users, hosted services, web maps and applications
  5. Configure and manage scripts for processing and monitoring GIS data using a GIS scripting language (Python)

The GIS Engineering Analyst position reports to Technology Services and works directly with Public Works management and staff to support public facing teams such as Engineering and Construction Services, Land Management, Parks, Road Maintenance, and Waste Management. This position also supports Emergency Management operations and Lane County’s response to weather events and natural disasters.

Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 5:00pm; nights and weekends only as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a field related to area of assignment; and sufficient experience as necessitated by the competency level of the position. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
 
Journey Level (N4304): 2-5 years of progressively responsible professional experience.
 
Specialized knowledge specific to area of assignment may be required.
 
Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

Licensing Requirements (positions in this class may require):
  • Valid Oregon Driver's License
  • Professional Engineer (PE) Designation
  • Professional Land Surveyor

Physical Requirements
  • Positions in this class typically require: talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
  • Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.  If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for Sedentary Work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for Light Work.
  • Incumbents may be subjected to fumes, dusts, gases, chemicals, extreme temperatures, intense noises and travel.
