Job Details
Aspect Consulting, LLC (Aspect), a specialty earth science and engineering consulting firm, is seeking a GIS Analyst to join our growing Data + Mapping Practice. As part of our team, you’ll have the opportunity to expand and grow your GIS skills across a variety of disciplines and technologies. Aspect works on large complex environmental and water resources projects for our private and public clients, leveraging our internal Enterprise GIS, you will be part of a team to creatively work on solutions to easily communicate these complex projects. Our GIS Analysts work closely with our staff scientists and engineers, along with our technology team on highly collaborative and dynamic project teams across our earth sciences spectrum of services

As a firm, Aspect is focused on environmental, water resources, stormwater, and geotechnical solutions—especially on projects that positively impact communities right here in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to the work that supports these core Aspect practice areas, our GIS Analysts provide data management, analysis, software development, and technology services directly to an increasing number of clients.

Duties
• Geospatial data management and spatial analysis across teams, supporting our work in environmental, infrastructure, and water projects
• Support field-data collection, creation, and editing workflows
• Creation of high-quality, communicative print and web maps/graphics
• Develop, share, and implement innovative and pragmatic GIS solutions to Aspect clients and project teams
• Provide technical support and guidance to project teams around acquiring, editing, managing, displaying, and interpreting geospatial data (and related analyses)
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
• Comprehensive knowledge of ArcGIS and the extended Esri desktop software/web ecosystem (Collector/Survey 123, ArcGIS Online/Portal, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Desktop)
• Strong fundamentals in geospatial data analysis, editing, and processing
• Demonstrable data management aptitude, including understanding of relational database structures, data management best practices, attention to detail, and geodatabase design
• Strong cartography, graphics, and map-making skills (portfolio submission suggested)
• Strong collaborative mentality and confidence to effectively communicate (via writing or speaking) to technical and non-technical audiences
• Workload prioritization skills to meet evolving project deadlines and an ability to switch gears and embrace a fast-paced work environment
• Demonstrable critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills
• Experience working in consulting and using environmental datasets
• Experience using open-source GIS (particularly QGIS), Python, Adobe Illustrator, web maps, and applications.

Requirements
• Environmental Sciences, Geography, or Natural Resources degree with GIS work experience, or B.S. degree in GIS or Geography, or equivalent additional work experience
• 3+ years professional experience in GIS environmental or consulting work

Workplace Setting
• Available position in our downtown Seattle, Bainbridge, Wenatchee, WA, or Bend, OR, offices
• Interactive team of 120+ professionals across eight offices in Washington and Oregon
• Casual, collaborative, and professional office environment
