The Truckee Donner Public Utility District (Truckee Donner PUD) is looking to fill a Geographic Information System (GIS) Coordinator vacancy.
The Geographic Information System (GIS) Coordinator performs a variety of skilled duties related to design, creation, maintenance and use of geographic management information systems to support the District’s electric, water and telecommunication departments, spreading the information out to as many people as need it and can use it The position requires the exercise of judgment and requires specialized professional knowledge of computers, information technology and geographic information technology. Will exercise considerable amount of decision making regarding the integration and manipulation of data, and will guide the District policy making regarding GIS matters. The GIS Coordinator requires a degree from an accredited college or university in information technology, geography, engineering, planning or a related field. They must have considerable formal training in computers with an emphasis on geographic technology. Five years experience in GIS technology, evidence of experience in programing environments: VBA, SQL, XML; web map programming and applications (XAML, HTML5), data bases SQL Server, MySQL, survey and data collection technology. mobile GIS technology and knowledge of utility networks preferred.
