Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is the steward of an integrated, multimodal transportation system that helps to ensure people and goods move safely and efficiently throughout the state. WSDOT is currently seeking a self-motivated and committed Transportation Planning Technician 2 to fill a Geographical Information System (GIS) Technician position located in Tumwater, WA. Under the direction of the GIS Data Products Supervisor, the GIS Technician is responsible for developing and maintaining GIS data sets and products used throughout the agency for project planning, budget development, design, maintenance, traffic congestion management, emergency response and more, essential to the achievement of WSDOT's goals of Safety, Preservation, Mobility, Environment, Stewardship, and Economic Vitality. This position will be responsible for creating and editing GIS and tabular data to develop and/or maintain the statewide Interchange\Intersection data layer(s) and other GIS data layers as needed.
