The City of Hillsboro Police Department is looking for a Law Enforcement Analyst who enjoys the challenge of utilizing their analytical skills to correlate and evaluate sensitive and complex information. In addition to studying and analyzing various patterns of criminal activity and mode of operation of potential suspects, the Analyst may also provide training to investigators, police officers, and other law enforcement professionals. This position has a critical role in the organization as the information compiled on criminal patterns or trends can be used to influence or enhance police resource allocation and deployment. Our desired candidate will have experience in designing and developing advanced database applications and the ability to write code in various programming.
The principal function of an employee in this class is to perform a wide variety of analytical, tactical and complex techniques designed to enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement resources and support police investigations. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of a supervisor, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment, initiative and program development. The principal duties of this class are performed in a police department environment with occasional field support work as required. This is a non-exempt position and is subject to the terms and conditions of a collective bargaining agreement.
