This is a temporary position not to exceed six (6) months or 1040 hours.
Multnomah County, one of Oregon’s largest public agencies employer, is committed to implementing GIS
and improving the ability to serve our community, our partners and our employees. The County is actively
developing and maintaining an Enterprise GIS, based on server technology, connecting geographic
information they need to better perform their business functions. Implementation of this strategic design is
aimed at optimizing workflows by reducing data and software redundancy, providing real-time geo-
intelligence, providing better data security and integrating important assets.
The County is looking to employ a GIS Technician to improve the existing County building structures
layer, using ESRI ArcGIS software and aerial photo interpretation. The position may lead to additional
project work focused on building up County’s framework data and ad-hoc mapping, as assigned. This
position will work closely with the County’s GIS Senior GIS staff and also independently. The GIS Data
Technician will be a member of the Enterprise GIS Office, within IT.
