Bureau of Planning and Sustainability:

This will be challenging and exciting work managing, integrating, analyzing, and sharing GIS data and mapping products to meet the needs of Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) and City of Portland projects and programs. It will require sophisticated GIS analysis skills, as well as project management and client and stakeholder engagement experience.

Specific duties include:

• Perform complex GIS data maintenance, manipulation, analysis, extraction, and generation assignments.
• Coordinate with BPS project teams, community-based partner organizations, and other external stakeholders on spatial data collection methods, data management, analysis, and mapping products to address the City of Portland’s core values and BPS’s priorities.
• Help to maintain the City of Portland’s zoning data and present that data through web applications such as PortlandMaps, BPS’s interactive zoning map, and BPS’s Map App.

• Assist in installing and testing new GIS software; assist in resolving and troubleshooting GIS-related problems and requests; maintain computer hardware and accessories; provide GIS software training for bureau personnel.

This position will work in a highly collaborative environment, working closely with other BPS GIS staff and the broader BPS Tech Services team. A GIS/Cultural Resources Specialist position is available with the Center for Environmental Management of Military Lands (CEMML) to provide on-site program support for the Cultural Resources Management Program, Environmental Division in the Directorate of Public Works, U.S. Army Garrison, Hawaii (USAG-HI).  This position will be duty-stationed at Pohakuloa Training Area on the Island of Hawaii. This position may also provide support to Schofield Barracks on the Island of Oahu, as needed.  This position includes a combination of office and field activities to gather and verify data, and maintain and update ESRI-compatible cultural resource geospatial data in compliance with U.S. Army spatial data standards (SDSFIE) and security requirements. Ensures data and metadata is complete and accurate. Incorporates new or updated information about cultural resources. Provides guidance and training to Cultural Resources staff on geospatial issues and tools.  Manages, maintains, and secures data in one or more data systems. Familiarizes him/herself with existing data, schema, and Army cultural resources program requirements.  Responds to data requests to support program requirements. The GIS/Cultural Resources Specialist will work closely, and in collaboration with, the CEMML Cultural Resources Project Director (Supervisor) and the USAG-HI Cultural Resource Manager (CRM) and Army staff in the Environmental Division in the Directorate of Public Works of USAG-HI.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
