The purpose of this position is to perform complex technical duties to support Public Works and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) departments. Work across all disciplines in Public Works to identify and document GIS business needs, then work with the appropriate GIS staff to develop workflows, tools and processes that meet those needs. Develop documentation and metadata for all processes, maps and data that Public Works GIS produces. Develop tools, databases, layers and automation processes to help improve efficiencies, data quality and workflows for internal customers. Oversee the field data collection program for all disciplines within Public Works. Provide a high level of customer service and GIS support to internal and external customers. Act as a liaison/bridge between various divisions and departments such as Engineering/Design, IT, Utility Billing, Operations and Maintenance, Construction Services, Engineering, and Community & Economic Development. Public Works - Wilsonville, OR Internship - $15.00 Hourly Category: Public Works Department: Public Works Position Overview The City of Wilsonville GIS and Public Works departments are seeking candidates for a short term internship to perform asset inventory activities for the City. The candidates will be responsible for gathering field based data for various City assets.
