Position Summary The Assistant GIS Specialist performs a variety of entry-level, professional GIS tasks associated with the development, maintenance and distribution of Metro's Regional Land Information System (RLIS), as well as project-specific data compilation, research, analysis and visualization. The position will focus on providing support to Research Center staff, Metro departments, other jurisdictions and the general public with GIS products, analysis and research. This position reports to the Research Center Client Services manager. Minimum Requirements A bachelor's degree in geography, computer science, urban planning or a related field, with major course work in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and one year of work experience in GIS and computer experience; or any combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the job.
