Field Surveyor w/ Compass Land Surveyors (Milwaukie, OR)

This position involves working primarily in the field on projects for public agencies, private clients, and other design professionals. The position involves working in a team environment and may include leading a survey crew.

​MINIMUM JOB SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 3 years’ experience as a field survey technician working on land surveying projects.
• Experience in the use and care of standard electronic survey equipment, including field data management procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of survey principles.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Must possess solid communication skills.
• Must be physically fit.
• Pre-employment drug screening required.
• Experience with Leica equipment is a plus

TYPICAL TASKS

• Perform field assignments related to all types of surveys, including boundary, topographic mapping, pipelines, hydrographic, construction and control surveys.
• Accurately operate and maintain survey instruments including levels, GPS devices and total station.
• Performs mathematical calculations. Read and understand survey map data.
• Take accurate and clear survey field notes and perform simple note reduction and checking.
• Assist with project research and management of collected survey data used for the preparation of survey maps.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
