Role: Geospatial Editor 
Role Summary: Develop new hydrography delineations using lidar-derived Digital Elevation Models (DEMs), imagery, and field collected data, which will be incorporated into the high-resolution National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) for a Federal Land Management Agency. 

Essential Functions:
  • Perform transactional edits on the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD).
  • Complete transactions on National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) corresponding to new hydrography delineations.
  • Perform quality control and adjustments to hydro breaklines.
  • Perform quality control and adjustments to waterbody features digitized from imagery.
  • Perform quality control and adjustments to hydrologic unit boundaries.
  • Deliver Vector data products suitable for inclusion to NHD and WBD datasets.
  • Complete transactions on services National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) corresponding to new hydrography delineations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in the biological sciences, GIS, agriculture, natural resource management or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
  • Proficiency with the ESRI ArcGIS version 10.x software suite, including the spatial analyst extension.
  • Familiarity with the high-resolution National Hydrographic Dataset (NHD) requirements and data standards.
  • Demonstrated experience editing vector-based data in ArcGIS version 10.x software in a production environment.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience with the the National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) using standard NHD update tools.
  • Experience in hydrography delineation using ortho-imagery
  • Familiarity with the physical geography of Oregon and Washington.
  • Experience supporting Land Management Agencies such as NPS, USFWS, BLM or similar.

Work Environment:
  • Location: Portland, OR
  • Travel up to 20% of the time
