​This technician-level position supports the Biophysical Analytics Group's Technical Domain Experts and Analysts in producing land cover datasets derived from remotely sensed imagery. These datasets are developed for clients from various Federal and State agencies and are utilized in applications such as water resource management, habitat monitoring, and coastal resilience efforts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Technical Domain Experts and Analysts to produce high-quality land cover datasets
• Perform photo interpretation and on-screen digitizing to review/edit land cover data
• Ensure accuracy and consistency in data processing and analysis
• Assist in the development and implementation of QA/QC processes
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure project deadlines are met

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite
• Experience with GIS Software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in geography, environmental science, geospatial science, or a related field
• One year experience with GIS Software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS)
• Experience or coursework with remote sensing data
• Knowledge of land cover/land use concepts and methodologies
• Exposure to species identification or environmental monitoring
