​Position Description
​The Seattle Information Technology Department is seeking two undergraduate college interns to participate on a variety of projects alongside other existing GIS Analysts and GIS Developers. The intern will contribute to the solutions we deliver to our departmental clients and gain valuable real-world experience.

Job Responsibilities

• GIS analysis projects
• Modeling and creating GIS data sets 
• Collecting and maintaining GIS data 
• Developing GIS data processing scripts
• Developing and configuring GIS web maps and applications

Qualifications
Education:  Open to all 2 and 4 year undergraduate and graduate students preferably studying: Geography, Computer Science, Information Sciences or a similar program of study.
 
 Undergraduate intern must be enrolled and maintain a 2.0 GPA for the duration of the internship.
  Required Qualifications:

• Microsoft Office
• Experience with the Esri ArcGIS Suite of GIS software including at least one of the following:  ArcMap, ArcGIS, Pro, ArcGIS online
• Familiarity with GIS data and analysis fundamentals

Desired Qualifications:

• Basic programming skills and concepts (Python, JavaScript, or other)
• Cartographic fundamentals

Additional Information
Hours:  Hours can be scheduled between 8:00 a.m. - 600 p.m. Intern will work 15-20 hours/week.
 
Start/End Dates:  This internship will begin in late June/early July, 2022.

Wages:  Undergraduate students will earn $19.09/hour.
