Salary Range:  $71,903 - $94,691  annually.
Placement on the range will be based on relevant experience displayed in application materials. 
Full-time, non-exempt position plus full benefits package.

About This Opportunity
In this role, you will partner up with other department GIS teams to implement GIS tools and solutions to serve our Hillsboro citizens.  Projects vary from small to large, internal, or external configurable web applications, system integrations, office, or field, lots of data, processing, project management and more!  

This position touches many different types of GIS work which also contributes to our surrounding jurisdictional partners at the local, county and state level.  The candidate we are looking for will work together to balance and enhance these concepts with the existing team and together, achieve assignments with a wide range of varying governing perspectives and priorities.

Examples of Essential Work
What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide programming and customer application development support to access the City’s GIS data warehouse and streamlines and enables efficient use of GIS software. This includes customizing GIS system software, implementing web based applications, and creating automated routines for efficiency.
• Manage and develop data, including developing new digital data as required on a project level basis or through departmental request.
• Provide project management, technical support and implementation of systems, hardware, software; and technology processes, workflows and procedures.  Develops and implements user training.  Provides user support of escalated GIS issues including needs analysis and problem resolution.
• Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned

Candidates We Are Looking For Will Have
Knowledge of:

• Geographic information system principles, practices, and concepts.
• Geodatabase design, and data administration principles particularly as applied to spatial data.
• Systems analysis and design principles and practices.
• Applicable hardware, software and systems maintenance and support methods ideally with Esri software and tools.
• Advance principles of Data management, meta data management, and quality control/assurances.
• Data security and integrity principles.
• Positive and effective customer service principles.
• Information Technology system concepts and practices as applied to geographic information systems administration and management. 
• Creating interactive web maps using ArcGIS Online, or a cloud-based GIS platform
• Publishing & maintaining web services using the ArcGIS platform
• Managing GIS infrastructure, such as ArcGIS Server, Portal for ArcGIS, or related software
• Utilize mobile GIS solutions, such as Field Maps and Explorer for ArcGIS 
• Familiarity with the Geocortex product suite, including 5-series applications

 
Ability to:

• Utilize ArcGIS Analytical tools and applications to increase functionality of existing software
• Communicate effectively in technology and translate concepts to stakeholders understanding
• Problem-solve individually and on a team
• Create detailed workflows from needs analysis either yours or someone else’s. 
• Promote a culture of teamwork and communication by working in collaboration and treating coworkers with respect and dignity and maintaining an open mind to diverse voices and ideas.
• Manage current Esri Enterprise platform including ArcGIS Pro proficiency 
• Script in languages of Python, SQL, JavaScript, and or Arcade

Acceptable Experience and Training
Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Geography, Geographic Information System, Geology, Geoinformatics or closely related field, and or 3-5 years of equivalent experience.  

Licensing/Certifications

• Prefer validation of Esri and or other training certificates 
• GISP desirable however not required
