Summary
Looking for a person who is multi-skilled with quantitative background for the position of GIS Coordinator. The GIS Coordinator is responsible for discovering patterns, and trends, developing mapping applications and managing the Island County Planning Departments GIS Layers.

Job Duties

• Analyze spatial data, using ESRI GIS Software (ArcGis Pro 2.4+ and ArcMap 10.6+).
• Create Web maps and manage all GIS layers and feature classes for the Planning Department.
• Produce reports from the Planning Department maps and mapping applications.
• Design an address application for assignment of Situs addressing throughout the county.
• Create “Shapefiles” to merge information between formats.
• Work with the other GIS Administrators throughout the County offices in a user group format.
• Use GIS techniques to assist the Planning team and Building team to develop solutions to
• Planning Problems.

Education, Experience & Certifications

• Valid Washington state driver’s license
• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Computer science, Surveying, Engineering or Geography.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Demonstrated knowledge of GIS programming languages such as Python, SQL and Arcade.
• Experience with geo processing tools used in GIS or GPS, model builder, remote sensing.
• Experience with local city or county mapping and addressing.
• Able to understand laws and regulations, that govern planning functions.
