GIS Coordinator w/Hood River County (Hood River, OR)

JOB SUMMARY:  Hood River County is looking for an individual who can serve the County Community Development Department as a professional GIS Coordinator who is primarily responsible for managing the County’s Geographic Information System (GIS), including the maintenance and development of its online WebMaps.
 
JOB DUTIES:  The County GIS Coordinator primarily develops and maintains the County’s GIS software and spatial data catalog used in its internal and public online WebMaps; provides GIS support to various county departments, other agencies, and the public; researches and implements new GIS technologies and software, and makes appropriate recommendations to management; coordinates the acquisition of Aerial Photography (Orthophoto) and LiDAR products; represents the County in joint local, regional, or statewide projects to acquire and maintain imagery products; performs work related to storing imagery on County infrastructure and integrate products with County GIS Data; provides basic training and technical assistance to County GIS users and others in the operation of standard GIS desktop and online mapping applications; produces custom maps of land information to meet specific County GIS user needs and answers inquiries from County staff, outside agencies, and the public regarding County GIS; and oversees service contracts for data conversion and application development. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  College degree from an accredited four-year college with major work in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, or related field. Two years of directly related professional experience or an equivalent combination of directly related education and professional experience as determined by the hiring authority. GIS Professional Certification (GISP) preferred.
 
ANNUAL SALARY:       Depending on qualifications:  $4596 - $6160/month
