GIS/Database Specialist
We are a small, creative, successful, and long-running software company situated in Portland, OR with stunning east-side offices close to downtown. Our company is a leader in developing technology solutions for government transportation agencies. We are seeking a sharp, analytical, resourceful, and organized GIS/Database Specialist to join our team. The GIS/Database Specialist works closely with all Teams and have responsibility for Castle Rock’s core database infrastructure.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) of road network data
• Rapid response to time-critical edits to data
• Edit, manage and maintain complex Linear Referencing Systems
• Ensure continued data integrity
• Develop, execute, and maintain SQL queries
• Work closely with the Operations team to streamline processes and troubleshoot issues
• Work with the Development team to fix bugs when they are discovered

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience and strong understanding of geospatial methods and technology (ESRI, QGIS and geoprocessing tools)
• Demonstrated knowledge of GIS processing for the development, management and editing of Linear Referencing Systems
• Ability to work within SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle or other enterprise level RDBMS
• Scripting in Python, JavaScript or Ruby
• Experience with web servers (IIS, Apache, Tomcat 7, JBoss 5, JBoss 7)
• Understanding the network flow of the end-point communications
• BA/BS degree in Computer Science, GIS or related field
• Polite, professional communication manner
