Description Intermountain Rural Electric Association is currently seeking a dynamic individual to fill our summer GIS Intern position in our Sedalia location. With over 151,000 members, Intermountain Rural Electric Association is one of the largest member-owned electric utility cooperatives in the United States. This is a temporary full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. or optional 9/80 schedule, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. To be eligible for the GIS Intern position; applicants must be a continuing student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university for the fall of 2018. This position will be required to perform a variety of tasks associated with utilities mapping projects utilizing GIS technologies. The GIS Intern may be responsible for preparing maps, charts, graphs or spreadsheets. Specific duties include, but are not limited to, inputting new data, manipulating, correcting and updating existing data. Perform duties in a manner consistent with the stated values of the organization. RequirementsSuccessful applicants must have a basic understanding of computer principles, databases, files and basic hardware and software. Skill in utilizing GIS software and basic knowledge of cartographic principles is expected. Other tasks will utilize various office applications on computer systems and will require the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. A valid Colorado driver’s license is required. The hourly rate of pay for this position is $21.00 - $28.25. In addition, Intermountain REA will provide health and life insurance at no cost to you!
