The City of Sherwood is seeking an experienced and highly motivated
Geographic Information System (GIS) Programmer/Analyst Sherwood, Oregon is a welcoming community with residents who enjoy the quality of life afforded by picturesque surroundings, economic opportunities and community engagement. Sherwood is located in Washington County, a hub for microchip and advanced manufacturing, with a population of approximately 450,000 residents. Under general supervision, performs a variety of analyst-level GIS application development and analysis functions of the City's Geographic Information system (GIS); evaluates and participates in the functions necessary to implement and sustain the creation, maintenance, and use of the GIS databases and applications; oversees all aspects of the program's structure and design for effective use, both within the City and in coordination with the public. Performs a variety of related technical work important to the delivery of several key services of the City; and provides related technical support to field staff, outside agencies, and the public. AUXILIARY JOB FUNCTIONS: Assists the Public Works Department and other City departments with special projects as assigned. Provides assistance to other staff as workload and staffing levels dictate. Maintain proficiency by attending training and meetings, reading materials, and meeting with others in areas of responsibility. Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
