GIS Project Manager w/Microsoft (Redmond, WA)

Overview
We are looking for a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Project Manager who will play a crucial role in our organization by overseeing and managing all aspects of GIS projects. This role requires a deep understanding of geospatial technology, project management skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions to our clients. As the GIS Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, executing, and closing GIS projects while ensuring they meet their objectives, timelines, and budgetary requirements.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans that include scope, goals, deliverables, and budget estimates. Define project tasks, resource requirements, and timelines.
• Client Communication: Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle. Address client concerns, provide updates, and manage expectations.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that all GIS data, maps, and applications meet quality standards and adhere to best practices.
• Resource Management: Manage project resources, including personnel, software, and hardware, to ensure efficient project execution.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and issues, develop mitigation plans, and take proactive measures to minimize project disruptions.
• Technical Expertise: Stay current with GIS technology trends and best practices, providing guidance and expertise to the project team.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation, including project plans, schedules, status reports, and change orders.
• Project Evaluation: Conduct project evaluations and assessments to measure project performance and client satisfaction.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field AND 2+ years experience in GIS Project Management
o OR Master's Degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
o OR equivalent experience.
Demonstrated experience in GIS software and tools, including Esri ArcGIS, QGIS, and other relevant geospatial technologies.

These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
• Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role wi ll require access to information that is controlled for export under U.S. export control regulations, potentially under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations.  As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency or other protected status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information.  To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport.
• Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S. citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports
• United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Solid client relationship management skills.
• Deep understanding of geospatial data, databases, and spatial analysis.
• Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines.

Data Analytics IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $80,900 - $162,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $105,300 - $176,900 per year.
