Job Description
GIS Specialist
Portland,OR(Onsite)
6+Month Contract

Responsibilities:

• Utilize ArcGIS, ArcFM, and custom applications for identification, configuration, and transformation of distribution data.
• Read and interpret electrical utility asset information to input, edit, and update spatial and tabular data.
• Maintain GIS database accuracy, technical files, and documentation.
• Ensure quality, meet timelines, and collaborate with supervisors and trainers to resolve data issues.
• Perform data conversion, digitizing, spatial and attribute editing, and data validation for digital infrastructure spatial data.
• Analyze data, conduct QC/QA activities, enforce standards, and validate data.
• Track progress and provide regular reports.

Requirements:

• Technical certification in drafting, GIS, or equivalent education and experience.
• Minimum three years of experience in a high-volume production environment using ArcGIS.
• Ability to read and understand electrical one lines, schematics, transmission plans, and profile drawings.
• Knowledge of basic electrical distribution power systems and utility network connectivity.
• Familiarity with utility engineering specifications, drawings, drafting, and design techniques.
• Understanding of current technologies, tools, systems, and vendors.
• Familiarity with company policies, practices, and procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and resolve internal and external customer issues.

Preferences:

• Bachelor's degree in GIS, Natural Resources, Geography, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with ArcGIS 10.x and ArcFM.
• Experience working with and maintaining networked utility data.
