GIS Specialist w/TerraX (remote)

TerraX is seeking a full-time Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist. The position is fully remote. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Conducting record searches and creating professional maps for Phase I projects;
• Conducting record searches and creating professional maps for Phase II and Phase III projects under supervision of senior-level GIS Specialist;
• Digitizing and georeferencing historic maps, aerial imagery, field drawings, and project area maps;
• Converting KMZ’s to shapefiles and vice-versa;
• Creating probability models under supervision of senior-level GIS Specialist;
• Knowledge of the field and reporting standards for designated states;
• Knowledge of the databases for designated states;
• Effectively communicating with company personnel and clients;
• Performing duties in accordance with timelines given;
• Providing GIS support on company’s numerous ongoing archaeological, historical, and architectural history projects; 
• Assisting in the creation and updating of existing and new GIS maps and map layers;
• Participating in a team atmosphere from a remote location

Minimum qualifications include:
Bachelor’s in anthropology, archaeology, geography, or a closely related field, including coursework in GIS OR Bachelor’s in GIS and/or 1 to 3 years experience as a GIS Specialist; Knowledge of ESRI software; Familiarity with the Section 106 Process and CRM Industry; Professional Communication Skills; Detail-oriented and well-organized

The salary range for the position is $39,500 - $45,000 based on experience. Benefits include paid vacation and holidays, group health, dental, and vision insurance, and 401k with matching.
