The Position
In addition to making beautiful paper and online maps, the Geographic Information Systems Technician III provides support to end users of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) within the department. This includes analyzing a variety of statistics and spatial data to create diagrams, illustrations and maps; responding to mapping and information requests from employees and the public; maintaining complex GIS datasets; and writing programs and scripts for development of mapping products. The GIS Technician III will work closely with land use and transportation planners on long range planning projects. This is a hybrid position eligible to work remotely 1-2 days per week.
