Parks and Open Space of Boulder County is hiring a GIS Seasonal position.  The GIS Seasonal uses Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to interpret, design, and produce maps, edit and maintain spatial (GIS) data, and perform spatial analysis as directed. 

Work hours are flexible and will be working at the Open Space office in Longmont, CO as well as working remotely.  This position is a Seasonal position which may be extended into 2022.   All Boulder County employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 on or before December 1, 2021, and submit proof of vaccination or an approved reasonable accommodation by that date. Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.

Hiring Hourly Wage:  $18.60 hourly

Tentative Hiring Timeline:

• Phone Screening:  October 12th
• First Round Interviews:  October 19th
• Reference Check:  October 20th

Examples of Duties

1. Enter coordinate geometry using traverse tools
2. Create maps for staff projects and the public
3. Create, update and edit spatial data and associated attributes
4. Update spatial data topology
5. Research and organize water and property records for upload/input into databases and data management systems
6. Other tasks as knowledge and experience allow

​EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in GIS, Geography, Natural Resources, Cartography, Real Estate, or related field.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• ArcGIS Online Platform
• Basic Python
• Basic RDBMS principles and design
• Basic data management experience
• Basic knowledge of Colorado water law
