GIS Technician w/ Heritage North Consulting Limited (Ft. St. John, BC, Canada)

Heritage North Consulting Limited, based out of Fort St. John, BC, Canada, is in need of a GIS Technician.
 
Current GIS Demands:
o    Managing spatial data for projects and field work prep (AGOL)

• Reviewing field data for accuracy and validity
• Prepare data for reports
• Prepare maps for reports
• Generate site boundaries/site maps
• Backup Data
• Manage apps and software updates on iPads/smartphones
• Prepare shapefiles for new site submission and permit reports

o    Train field workers on mobile data collection
 
Future GIS Demands
o    Develop/modify Survey123 forms

• Develop map templates for ArcGIS Pro
• Develop geospatial data management scheme/database

This is a junior level position however applicant must have previous GIS experience.
 
Attention to fine detail and aesthetics, creativity, pride in work and willingness to learn are essential. An ability to meet deadlines, flexibility and work independently is also required.
 
Working hours are negotiable and own schedule can be created but applicant does need to be available from 8am-9am Fort St. John time (which does not switch to daylight savings time) week days.
 
This could be a remote or an in-office position. The Fort St. John office is dog friendly.
 
Specific training will be provided and support is available from an experienced consultant.
 
Heritage North has a relaxed work environment where everyone works together as a team. Duties overlap and we all help each other out when needed. Your personality, ability to fit in and an interest in archaeology will be preferred over experience.
