GIS Technician w/ State of Washington Military Dept (Lakewood, WA)

Responsibilities include:
Data Management

• Provide CFMO Environmental geospatial customer support, reports, maps, application maintenance, and quality assurance utilizing enterprise geospatial databases.  
• Integrate Global Position Systems (GPS) collected data, CAD data, historic maps into database repository.
• Maintains cloud-based environment for enterprise GIS processes. 
• Manage project workflows and ensure data integrity, integration to enterprise databases, and agency wide access.  

​Application Development

• Performs coding changes to existing and codes new application interfaces for CFMO specific web-based geospatial applications enabling online spatial content and data to the National Guard Units and FMO maintenance personnel statewide.  
• Supports the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) geospatial initiatives during activations to support internal and external customers and data needs.

System Administration

• Supports the CFMO environmental division through collaboration and working closely with other technical staff supplying application and database support. 
• Monitor environmental mapping applications status and troubleshoot. 
• Assist with scheduling of prescribe software updates and patches for geospatial software to minimize disruption of workflows and productivity.  
• Utilizes Python tool sets to create and manage test data and supply analytical reports of test. 
• Supports Emergency Operations in coordination with Operations Branch Manager, staff the State Emergency Operations Center during activations in support of major events 24/7, providing IT support and technical advice.  

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Four years of information technology experience such as analyzing, designing, programming, installing, and/or maintaining computer software applications, hardware, or telecommunications or network infrastructure equipment, or providing customer/technical support in information technology.   A bachelor's degree in computer science, Geographic Information Science, Computer Aided Drafting will substitute year for year for this experience requirement.  AND
• Four years of experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), cartographic principles, coordinating system transformations and Data Interoperability or similar toolsets. 

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Geographic Information Science, Computer Aided Design, or related technology field.  
• Software Knowledge/Experience:
• Arc Server / SDE v10.xx
• Arc Desktop v10.xx
• Arc Pro v2.3 or higher
• Trimble Pathfinder Office v5.65
• Trimble Terrasync v5.65
• Trimble GEO 7Series GPS units 
• Trimble S7

Knowledge of:

• Technical drawing computer programs such as VISIO and AutoCAD.

Skills and Abilities to:  

• Create and maintain GIS and Computer Aided Design software.  
• Use and develop GIS and map development systems and layering.
