If you want to gain first-hand knowledge and assist the Engineering Department with design while utilizing CAD in association with Port construction projects then the Port's Civil Engineering Internship might be right for you! Port Interns learn on the job under close supervision, receive feedback from Port staff and complete work products that align with the students learning objectives and contribute to the Port's mission. This Port Intern position will work with a dynamic team of engineering professionals engaged with interesting and challenging projects. Eligibility: Intern must be attending school and working towards a Civil Engineering degree for the duration of the internship or, if school is not in session must be enrolled in classes for the next term (i.e., during summer term). A minimum of a 2.0 grade point average must be maintained and proof of eligibility must be submitted each term/semester. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with updating contract drawings and specifications with project engineer requests utilizing CAD. Assist Project engineers with research and data collection for project development Update GIS maps and figures for research tasks as directed by engineers Assist other Engineering staff as required MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Actively pursuing a degree in civil engineering at an ABET accredited university is required. A valid driver's license is required. Ability to obtain security badging at PDX and/or other Port facilities which may require a background check is required. Working knowledge of one or more of the following Civil engineering software is preferred: Civil3D ArcInfo Autodesk ESRI HEC SWMM Familiarity with graphics software such as Visio and Photoshop is preferred Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Good organization and time management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills To Apply: https://agency.governmentjobs.com/portofportland/default.cfm Comments are closed.
