Multiple virtual, unpaid, GIS internships with the Virtual Student Federal Service (VSFS) Program (Apps open until Saturday, Jul 31) – Anywhere, USA
 
Apply in July on USAJobs.gov. Search for “VSFS” or “Virtual Student Federal Service”. You may apply to three out of the 120 GIS projects. All candidates will hear by early September if they have been offered a position.

Are you interested in fire & how it is used for natural resource management? Interested in applying classroom skills to real world applications?
 
Rediscovering Kentucky’s Historic Landscapes Through GIS Analysis*
Student will study historic maps, and use GIS software to create a digital database of historic landscape features. The information will be used by future archaeologists to reconstruct past cultural landscapes.
 
GIS a unique National Historic Trail Nez Perce*
Create a geographic information system (GIS) Inventory of the Nez Perce (Nee-Me-Poo) National Historic Trail.
 
Designing Arc StoryMap for Scuba Diving Best Practice in a National Marine Sanctuary
Create an engaging and interactive experience for users interested in learning about recreational SCUBA diving in Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary. The experience would be available on the Gray’s Reef website and on the sanctuary’s multimedia, touchscreen exhibits.
 
Telling the story of forest stewardship: enhancing outreach for underserved non-industrial private landowners through GIS and StoryMaps*
Further develop your skills and interests with the Forest Service in helping us to tell our stories of how we engage with non-industrial private forest landowners across our Nation through Forest Stewardship, other Cooperative Forestry programs, and our partners using analyses and Esri StoryMaps .
