GIS Specialist

Position Type: Full Time
Description:  The GIS Specialist provides technical assistance to Conservancy staff as it pertains to GIS data management, mapping and analysis. The GIS Specialist will report to the Long Island GIS Manager and will provide support to the Long Island Chapter and New York State.
Experience: BA/BS or Associates degree in related field and 2 years related experience

GIS Contractor
Anthropocene Institute’s Marine Protected Area Team (Menlo Park, CA)
Position Type: Two month contract up to 40 hrs/wk
Description:  Assist the team in locating, validating, and digitalizing boundaries for US Marine Protected Areas and marine managed areas. Compare existing digital GIS boundaries to written legal MPA descriptions.
Experience: Familiarity using common GIS file formats. (ESRI, shapefile, Google Earth KML, etc.) Experience with ESRI ArcGIS desktop applications or open source equivalents (e.g., qGIS.)

Geospatial Analysts

Description: Assist in the development of greater sage grouse habitat degradation datasets. Compile data to incorporate into the Surface Distribution and Reclamation Tracking Tool (SDARTT). Help identify the footprint of active mining and other disturbances across all jurisdictions. 
Experience: US Citizen. Bachelor’s degree. Three years experience with ESRI ArcGIS version 10.x, Enterprise ArcSDE database, and assessing and documenting data needs.
