Office of Emergency Services (Sacramento, Ca) https://www.jobs.ca.gov/CalHrPublic/Jobs/JobPosting.aspx?JobControlId=82424 Final Filing Date: 10/5/2017 Job Description and Duties Under the supervision of the GIS Division Chief or Research Program Specialist I or II (GIS), the Research Analyst I (GIS) is responsible for performing basic GIS procedures for the creation, compilation, analysis, translation, reporting, maintenance and presentation of geospatial data in support of emergency functions and homeland security. Incumbent should have a basic understanding of geographic and cartographic principles and standards, and concepts of data management in a relational database, and the creation and management of metadata in compliance of Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) standards. Assist in researching, assessing, and preparing ArcGIS Online (AGOL) Web maps, map and feature services, AGOL applications, authoritative map and feature services. Assists in planning for and performing data creation and preparation for Web maps and applications for Cal OES GIS situation awareness and operational tools. Desirable Qualifications Knowledge of:
