For more information please Click Here Position Summary This position is for a Research Assistant to work on a research project on how hurricanes and wildfires affect forest composition and endangered red-cockaded woodpecker habitat in North Carolina under climate change We are seeking an individual who can conduct forest modeling, analyze model output and work collaboratively across three universities. Primary Activity - Research Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or specific expertise in relevant field Preferred Qualifications M.S. in relevant field. Excellent programming skills in R. Good skills with ArcMap, and experience in data mining of ecological, environmental or climatic databases. Experience in modeling. Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement The starting annual salary rate for this position will start at $55,656. The starting salary may be negotiable above this rate, however it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR. PSU’s excellent benefits package includes 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon Public Universities.
