Systems Analyst GIS w/City of Hillsboro (OR)

The Information Services (IS) Department GIS Team is thrilled to announce the opening for a Systems Analyst – GIS position. As a Systems Analyst, you will play a crucial role in supporting all City departments' GIS teams and power users, enabling them to utilize GIS tools and solutions effectively to serve the Hillsboro community.

The Role

 As a Systems Analyst, you will provide support for the City's Enterprise GIS, encompassing system architecture, data management, application development, system integrations, and more. The Information Services GIS team recently underwent a Geospatial Strategic Planning process that will shape the future growth of the City's GIS over the next 3-5 years. Projects will span a wide range, including web application design, Python scripting, system integrations, office and field work, extensive data analysis, real-time solutions, automation, and project management.
 
If you are a seasoned GIS professional with expertise in ArcGIS Enterprise, VertiGIS products, Python scripting, and data management including working with real-time data, this opportunity could be a perfect match for you. We are seeking individuals who are not only experienced but also deeply passionate about GIS.
 
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for this position should have a strong foundation in Geographic Information System principles, practices, and concepts, backed by 3-5 years of relevant experience. It would be beneficial if you have a combination of expertise in Web GIS, real-time data, Python scripting, and/or experience with migrating to ESRI Utility Network. As you will be involved in various GIS tasks and collaborating with neighboring jurisdictions at the local, county, and state levels, possessing a can-do attitude, maintaining a sense of humor, and effectively collaborating with stakeholders are key qualities that will contribute to success in this role.

Current Projects for this Position:

• Converting existing geometric networks to Esri’s Utility Network
• Equity indicators and indices development and supporting web mapping application for decision making and
• City stakeholders.
• Public-facing street sweeping application utilizing real-time data
• ArcGIS Enterprise system upgrade to 11.x
• Acceptable Experience and Training
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Services, or a closely related field and 5 years information technology experience with 3 years related to area of assignment; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

LICENSING/CERTIFICATIONS:

• Valid Driver’s License and safe driving record.
• GSP preferred but not required.
