THE POSITION:
Chelan County Public Works is looking for an individual to fill a temporary summer position in the Addressing Department.  This position will help departmental staff with a variety of tasks, mostly focusing on addressing and road naming issues.
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities may include the following duties: synchronization of addressing databases, field work which may include: documentation of road name signs, location of driveways, and field checks on address posting; data entry of addressing attributes into various software programs, providing assistance in digitizing of map features, data collection, and other generalized information; other duties as assigned.
 
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Strong skills with computers and typical PC software are required.  Applicant must be detail-orientated.  Experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software is desirable.  Requires effective organization and communication skills, the ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with department personnel, and the ability to work well in a multitasking environment as well as alone.  A Washington State Driver’s License is required.
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work will be performed in a normal office setting and/or in the field on county roadways.  Field work will be done in a variety of weather conditions and terrain.
 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The duties require sitting at a computer terminal for extended periods of time and/or field work.  This job may include: walking on various types of surfaces, including rough terrain, sitting, standing, ability to maintain balance, climb inclines, ability to kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, reach, push, pull, twist; requires sense of touch, finger dexterity, gripping with fingers and hands, lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds; ability to operate passenger vehicles; ability to hear voice conversations; requires color vision with depth perception.
