Utility GIS Professional w/ City of Seattle (WA)

Job Responsibilities

• Research and interpret a variety of source documents, including, engineering plans (both design and as-built, including schematic details); contractor submitted as-built drawings; engineering specifications; architectural drawings; survey data and associated documents; GIS user-submitted sketches; maps; notes related to field checks; and other construction-related documents.
• Use source documents to create and maintain spatial and attribute drainage/wastewater data using a custom GIS data editor that utilizes ESRI’s ArcGIS software suite.
• Perform quality control and assurance.
• Manage performance tracking systems using MS Access and Excel.
• Coordinate and communicate with team members, supervisor, and subject matter experts.
• Participate in special projects and assignments as directed.

Qualifications

Education:  
Requires an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology OR two years of college level coursework in engineering and construction technology

Education Equivalency 
Other combinations of appropriate education, training, certifications, and experience will be evaluated on an individual basis for comparability to the minimum education and experience requirements. 

Additional Information
The ideal candidate should possess some of the below experience or knowledge:

• ESRI's ArcGIS software suite. 
• Interpretation of construction drawings and similar source documents related to utility infrastructure projects. 
• Performing GIS data creation and/or maintenance related to utility infrastructure. 
• Willingness to learn and be part of a collaborative team.
• Experience working efficiently in a fast-paced, production driven environment
• Experience working and/or learning remotely.

​The full salary range for this position is $33.64 - $ 39.16 per hour.
