The Bureau of Environmental Services is seeking a Wetland Technician to join the team! Position Description: The Bureau of Environmental Services (BES) is looking for an individual to support the Biological Sciences Team in the Environmental Information Division. This position supports BES's Wetland lnventory Project (WIP) by assisting with wetland determinations and functional assessments in Portland, Oregon. Primary duties require the ability to identify, record, and properly analyze dominant plant species, hydric soil indicators, and wetland hydrology indicators per the Army Corps of Engineers 1987 Wetland Delineation Manual and the Regional Supplement to the Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Manual: Western Mountains, Valleys and Coast Region. Additional duties include classifying wetlands, noting wetland habitat features, and identifying areas for investigation using aerial maps, soil surveys, the National Wetland Inventory, and other resources. This position will also assist with data management, GIS mapping, analysis, and quality control. Position Schedule: Limited-term with a maximum of 1400 hours per calendar year (25 to 40 hours per week). Start Date: February 2021 End Date: Current funding is available through June 30, 2021. If the requested budget for Fiscal Year 21-22 is approved, funding will extend through June 30, 2022. Desired Skills and Experience:
