            Personal Statement

            I have parallel experience in academia and industry giving me the unique ability to engage in and teach others about scientific and spatial analysis, cartographic design and data visualization.  I take a creative approach to bringing together concepts and spatial thinking.

            Professional Experience

            Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

            • Manage and implement technical analyses using GIS and remote sensing tools
            • Create and maintain GIS databases
            • Identify data gaps, compile datasets and conduct analysis using GIS tools  
            • Develop cartographic standards and administer map quality control
            • Collect GPS data for spatial analysis and map production
            • Advanced skills in GIS, GPS, Remote Sensing, & Database tools

            Program Management

            • Develop program goals, objectives, budgets, and reports for science and education
               programs
            • Participate in program fundraising through grant-writing, corporate and individual
               contributions, and in-kind donations
            • Employ staff hiring, training, reviews, and conflict resolution
            • Recruit, manage and train volunteers and interns
            • Communicate and facilitate with policy makers, community stakeholders, partners,
               educators, school administrators, co-workers, and scientists

            • Design curriculum and assessment tools
