American Society of Photogrammetry & Remote Sensing (ASPRS)
What is the ASPRS?
Founded in 1934, the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) is a scientific association serving more than 7,000 professionals worldwide. The mission is to promote the ethical application of active and passive sensors, the disciplines of photogrammetry, remote sensing, geographic information systems, and other supporting geospatial technologies; to advance the understanding of the government, academia, and private enterprise.
ASPRS at PCC?
We are the Portland Community College (PCC) student chapter of ASPRS. Our chapter is run by student officers (elected each Fall) who work closely with a faculty advisor (Christina Friedle) to host skill-based workshops, create networking opportunities for geospatial students & professionals, participate in community-based mapping & GIS projects, and to help educate others about the geospatial field. We are affiliated with the Columbia River Region ASPRS.
How can I join?
Membership is open to all PCC students. Visit our membership page for more information on becoming a member of our student ASPRS chapter.
