GENERAL SUMMARY
Shoreline is an inclusive City that endeavors to build a work culture which embraces diversity, encourages participation, and promotes equity. This position will be part of the City’s IT team and will report directly to the IT supervisor. The IT group consists of eleven positions including the IT manager. Support and reporting issues can be escalated to the GIS Analyst, and/or the IT supervisor. The City has a number of master plans requiring GIS work over the next four years and this position will help backfill the GIS Analyst as these will require a significant amount of the Analyst’s time. We are also working on a project to improve and update the City’s Wastewater GIS data. DEFINITION Support the editing and delivery of Geographic Information System (GIS) products. Function as a technical advisor providing, guidance, training, customer support, and direction in spatial data capture, use, analysis and quality assurance and control. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Editing mission critical GIS data sets consisting of, property, transportation, utility, planning, economic and demographic, and administrative layers. Maintain GIS data that supports the City's Asset Management system. Respond to ad hoc requests from staff and the public. Essential Functions:

Experience: One to three years of increasingly responsible experience in GIS editing and maintenance. Local government experience preferred. Training: A bachelor's degree and/or a GIS certificate from an accredited college or university with major course work Geography, GIS or related field.
