The GIS Specialist performs duties in the development and maintenance of Tulalip Tribes GIS system, which supports the GIS needs of all tribal departments. It requires knowledge of GIS concepts and software, as well as GIS dataset types and formats. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining GIS data, custom map production, field data collection and geospatial analysis. Field data collection will be conducted using unmanned aerial vehicles and GPS equipment.

  • Associate degree in GIS, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, geography; OR two plus years of college education with a GIS Certificate from accredited school; experience may be considered as a substitute for the above education. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • GIS data collection (including fieldwork), geodatabase maintenance, data conversion, digitization, data editing and integration.
  • Produce a wide array of GIS products including cartographic maps, map books, web maps, electronic files.
  • Spatial analysis, 3D analysis, data modeling and reporting.

Geographic Information System (GIS) Operations Manager - (Portland, OR) - #110105 - PORTLAND, OR, US, 97232

General Purpose
The position reports to the Director of GIS, Mapping & Data Management and will be responsible for functional oversight of the day-to-day operations of a highly customer service driven GIS Solutions group. The GIS Solutions group manages and maintains geospatial data, performs related analysis and decision support, provides both services and products for diverse business units, and creates various web and mobile map-based applications. The GIS Operations Manager implements strategy and priorities developed by GIS Director.  The GIS Operations Manager performs day to day management of staff and projects, leads and contributes to projects, and assists in establishing and implementing business objectives.  

Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage the work for the GIS Solutions group. 
  • Lead the functional team, projects and initiatives, direct day-to-day activities, and provide guidance and recommendations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, computer science, geographic information systems (GIS) or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7 years of experience leading, managing, and delivery of GIS services, products, applications.
  • A minimum of three years of demonstrated leadership/supervisory or functional management experience.
  • 6 years of experience working at or with an Electric Utility.  
  • Experience working with ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, and the configuration, deployment, and support of various ArcGIS web maps, operations dashboards, and mobile applications such as ArcGIS Collector, Survey 123, and ArcGIS Field Maps.

Overview of Position:
The City of Springfield is excited to offer a temporary Land Survey Assistant position. This is a great opportunity for those who may be early in their college careers or those interested in professional land surveying to gain practical experience by taking classroom theories and applying it to field survey techniques, data processing, and other survey and non-survey related duties.  Additionally, the incumbent will participate and experience current planning and construction as it relates to surveying.

Training & Experience:
The City will consider any equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and experience to meet minimum qualifications.  
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent 
  • Completion of one (1) year of college, university or trade school in engineering, surveying, construction management, computer science, or related area (equivalent job experience may be substituted for education)

License, & Certifications:  
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license by date of hire. New employees establishing resident status in the State of Oregon must obtain an Oregon driver’s license within 30 days (ORS 807.020 (1)).
  • Ability to maintain acceptable driving record throughout employment.

Selection and Interview Process:
Schedule:
•    Sunday, June 4th: Application period closes
•    Week of June 5th:  Finalists will be notified
•    Week of June 19th: Interviews

Top candidates will be invited to interview, and candidates will be emailed directly with additional information.

The selection process will include: reference checks, driving record review, and criminal background check.
