GIS Developer Analyst III/IV w/ PGE

This IT position possesses a high level of skill and experience in GIS systems design, programming, testing, and change management. Development experience with Schnieder, ESRI, or a similar GIS system preferred. Provides business process analysis, and designs that leads to the development of business applications for mainframe, midrange, client servers, Internet and/or PC technologies. Duties include most of the components of application system development, comprehensive report design and development, and development of smaller scale databases on stand-alone platforms, in compliance with IT department standards.

GIS Developer Analysts work with Systems Analysts, DBA’s, Business Analysts, and other Developers to provide high quality software applications that support the business objectives of PGE.

Top candidates will have:

Typically a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering Management or equivalent work experience in related discipline.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated formal presentation skills are a plus.
Ability to work effectively in a fast moving IT team environment.
Analyst IV level: preferred 6 - 8 years design, programming, and debugging experience while developing business applications.
Analyst III level: preferred 2-3 years programming experience developing business applications.
Preference will be given for experience programming and developing business applications with Schneider and/or ESRI.
PGE is a regional provider of electric power. Senior Developer Analysts may be required to travel within the PGE service area and to its generation facilities. Occasional overnight stays may be required. Expected travel would be no more than 10% of work time.
Valid driver's license is required.

Position Summary:

The Assistant GIS Specialist performs a variety of entry-level, professional GIS tasks associated with the development, maintenance and distribution of Metro’s Regional Land Information System (RLIS). The position will focus on providing support to Metro departments, other jurisdictions and the general public with GIS products and analysis; including data management for Metro’s Native Plant Center, annual updates to the Solid Waste Facilities data and maps, and production of demographic-focused maps and reports. This position reports to the Research Center Client Services manager.
