Confluence AmeriCorps Program and Portland Environmental Services are hiring TWO AmeriCorps members: a Stormwater Equity Coordinator and a Green Street Coordinator!
The Stormwater Equity Coordinator and Green Street Coordinator will work collaboratively to assist the Stormwater Stewards Team to plan and develop urban forest and sustainable stormwater capacity in low-tree-canopy, low-income, racially diverse communities in Portland. The Stormwater Equity Coordinator will focus on urban trees, and the Green Street Coordinator will focus on Green Street Facilities (i.e., bioswales). These positions will build on the successes of previous AmeriCorps members. The AmeriCorps members will connect with community groups, organizations, committees and leaders to cultivate partnerships for potential projects and stewardship commitments; develop and organize materials, activities and events to foster tree and Green Street stewardship; and plan and execute tree and Green Street planting and stewardship activities in low-tree-canopy, low-income, racially diverse communities in close cooperation with partners. The Member will participate in Confluence-led professional development activities: Professional Development Series, completing a Change Agent Project, team meetings, National Service events and other self-directed development opportunities. We use innovative outreach and planting models to increase tree planting in underserved neighborhoods and ensure our program is connecting with diverse communities.
