Position Description 
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced GIS Analyst in our Seattle office to support the firm’s natural resources, environmental and engineering consulting services.

This individual will be responsible for leading the continuing development, integration and implementation of the firm’s GIS technologies. This individual’s daily activities will require one to “roll up their sleeves” and be actively involved with a variety of tasks, including data collection, development and maintenance of spatial databases, modeling and production of maps.

We are seeking an individual with a BA/BS in Geography or GIS, or advanced training in GIS, and 5+ years of progressive GIS work experience, preferably within a professional services firm.  The successful candidate will possess:

• Strong understanding of cartographic principles, spatial data concepts and digital map production;
• Experience developing and administering spatially enabled databases at the workgroup and enterprise levels including PostgreSQL/PostGIS and/or Microsoft SQL Server;
• Experience integrating multiple external data sources;
• High level of proficiency in SQL, Python and ArcPy;
• Familiarity serving spatial data using web mapping clients;
• Working knowledge of Geospatial and 3D data analysis;
• Experience managing and performing QA/QC measures on large data files and field data;
• Familiarity with subsurface, natural resources and environmental data (e.g. groundwater plume modeling, contaminant/chemistry data).
• Ability to train staff to access and use GIS services and data;
• Proficient at finding and accessing third-party data sources and ability to discern and evaluate data quality;
• Highly proficient using Microsoft Office Software;
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, gINT and/or RockWorks software a plus.

Responsibilities of this role will require a self-starter with excellent interpersonal and communications skills, and the ability to identify and implement processes for greater efficiency.  The ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment is critical.   Duties may provide opportunities for field work.
