Weyerhaeuser has an exciting opportunity for a GIS Analyst to become a part of the Western Timberlands Inventory & Planning (I&P) Team in Oregon. The Inventory and Planning team is responsible for forest inventory, harvest planning, GIS data management and mapping for approximately 2.5 million acres in the Northwest. This is a full-time, salary exempt position and reports to the Oregon Inventory & Planning Manager within the Western Timberlands organization. The preferred office location is Springfield, Oregon but there may be some flexibility within the Willamette Valley. This role currently provides some flexibility to work from home up to 2 days/week (dependent on business needs), while balancing that with work in the field and reporting to an office location on regular basis to provide support and collaborate with team members.
Background The position is one of three GIS Analysts on the Oregon Inventory & Planning team with a primary responsibility of supporting business needs across Weyerhaeuser’s Oregon ownership. As a GIS Analyst, you will be expected to partner with team members and provide GIS support for forestry management activities on over 1.1 million acres of Timberlands throughout Western Oregon. To be successful in this role, you must possess strong organizational and communication skills and be able to work in both a team environment and individually. You must also be able to adapt to changing priorities and learn new concepts and applications quickly, as well as travel to regional field offices when required. GIS Analysts provide the foundation for a strong timberlands inventory, and their work overlaps with the Inventory Forester role. This role will be called upon to flow to work as needed while leveraging both skill sets. Key Functions
