THE POSITION:
 
The GIS Analyst is responsible for coordinating the collection, publication and documentation of spatial data from internal and external sources for use in desktop and web based GIS applications.  The incumbent provides GIS application support and solutions to a variety of customers.  This position is in the Corporate GIS Program (CGIS) within the Bureau of Technology Services' Business Solutions Division.
 
Specific responsibilities include: coordinating publication of GIS data and metadata from City bureaus and external partners to CGIS servers; working to make authoritative GIS data discoverable and accessible to end users; creating and maintaining ArcGIS Server web mapping services; administration of users, roles, groups and content on City's ArcGIS Online organization; automating processes using python, SQL and REST services; support of the suite of ArcGIS software including testing, deployment and trouble shooting.   Additional duties include; helping customers utilize GIS technology by analyzing business processes, integrating GIS functionality into custom and off the shelf applications, and providing training for GIS applications to expand their use across the organization.
 
The successful candidate will possess demonstrated, extensive hands-on experience with the ESRI ArcGIS software suite, ArcGIS Server, Python, ESRI ArcPy libraries, ArcGIS Online and related web mapping technology. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, .NET Studio and ArcObjects are desirable, but not required. The successful candidate will be able to work in a culturally and gender diverse workplace.

2. Please provide an example which demonstrates your ability and experience delivering GIS data to end users through desktop and web applications.
   
3. Please provide examples that demonstrate your ability and experience in providing support and training to GIS users at different levels of ability, as well as experience supporting the maintenance and editing of spatial databases.
   
4. Please provide an example which demonstrates your knowledge and ability to coordinate activities across multiple business divisions, including past project management and coordination experience.
   
5. Please provide examples of your use of a programming language or database system to provide GIS functionality in an application or business process.
